Caitlyn Marie Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner in Mount Kisco, New York, on the 28th of October 1949. Jenner participated in his 1972 Olympic trials in Eugene Oregon. In the final event, Jenner was in fifth position and had to fill in the gap of 19 seconds when it came to the male 1500 meters. Jenner qualified for the team after running 22 seconds faster than runners she was competing against in the final lap. After the tests, Jenner finished tenth in the decathlon during the 1972 Olympics held in Munich. After graduating from college at the age of 23, Jenner was married to the flight attendant Chrystie Crownover. The couple relocated in San Jose, CA. Jenner worked in the morning in tracks at the San Jose City College and San Jose State University tracks and then sold insurance at night to help pay the bills.
