We are assuming that’s because it is next to impossible to pass by them without wanting to have a bite. Gulab Jamun is inarguably one of the most popular Indian sweets of all times. It is an indispensable part of every big function, but that does not mean you cannot prepare them without any special occasion in tow. Turns out, you can make gulab jamun with only a handful of bread slices, so there you have it- another reason to have gulab jamuns today!

Here’s How To Make Make Malai Gulab Jamun With Bread Slices:
1. Start with making chashni. Add sugar to a pan, and an equal amount of water. Boil on medium-high flame. Keep stirring until it is slightly sticky.
2. Add crushed cardamom pods and saffron strands.
3. Make chashni of perfect consistency, it should be sticky enough like honey or ghee. It should not be too light or too thick.
4. Close the lid. Turn off the flame and keep it aside.
5. Take some slices of white bread, cut out the edges.
6. Break the slices into small bits.
7. Add warm milk on top of the bread. Mix gently. Do not squeeze.
8. Make a soft dough, using light hands.
9. For the malai stuffing, take desiccated coconut in a grinding jar, sugar powder or sugar, milk powder, malai, milk, cardamom powder. Blend well. Take it out in a bowl.
10. Now go back to the dough, knead it for 30 seconds. Add ghee, knead again very gently.
11. Pull out small balls and shape them. Make sure it has no cracks.
12. Fry the gulab jamun. You do not have to deep fry them. Fry on medium flame. Fry till it is brown.
13. Add hot gulab jamun in hot chashni. Soak only for 10 minutes.
14. When they are slightly cold. Cut the gulab jamun in half. Spread the malai stuffing on one half, and place the other half on top. Garnish with pistachios. Your malai gulab jamun is ready.
